As economic activities become more frequent, traffic jams become more and more serious, and road traffic accidents increase year by year.
This has become an urgent social problem. Glass beads in road marking are facilities used to regulate and guide traffic and disperse traffic flow. These road traffic markings are marked on the road surface or other facilities with prescribed lines, arrows, text, elevation markings, raised road signs or other guides. It conveys all kinds of fixed basic information of roads to vehicles and pedestrians, especially for drivers. The traffic marking is mainly set on the road surface. It withstands the sun and rain, wind and snow, and the impact and wear of vehicles, so it has strict requirements on its performance.
Firstly, the traffic markings are required to have a short drying time and simple operation to reduce traffic interference; secondly, the traffic markings are required to have strong reflection ability, bright colors, and strong reflectivity, so that they have good visibility during the day and night; thirdly, the traffic markings are required to have anti-slip and wear resistance to ensure driving safety and service life.
After coating the thermoplastic coating on the marking line and spreading glass beads, it should have quick-drying in a short time (less than 5min) regardless of the climate. General thermoplastic road reflective coatings (glass beads for road marking paint) have good quick-drying (hardening) properties, which harden quickly in the cold season and slowly in the warm season. The curing of the coating film will skew due to shrinkage, the parallelism of the surface flow is poor, and the fixing quality of the glass beads for road marking paint is also poor. When the curing of the coating film is slow, not only does the spread glass beads sink into the coating to reduce the reflective ability, but also it will delay the open traffic time and reduce the traffic capacity. For this reason, the temperature of the paint in the molten state is usually reduced to shorten the curing time.
There must be strong adhesion between the marking film and the road surface, and it should not be peeled off or broken. The coating film adheres well to the road surface, and will not peel off quickly due to rolling, sliding, and braking of the vehicle; it will not crack, flex, or peel off due to the expansion and contraction of the road surface caused by seasonal temperature changes. Heat the thermoplastic road marking paint with a hot-melt axe to 180 ℃-220 ℃ (the temperature is selected according to the type and formula of petroleum resin used in the paint) to melt the thermoplastic resin in the paint. The paint is in a molten and flowing state, and is applied to the road surface with a special marking machine. At the same time, glass beads for road marking paint are spread and cured at room temperature. When applied to a cement pavement, the high-temperature molten paint is mechanically meshed with the cement pavement, so the adhesion is poor, and the road marking agent should be applied in advance to enhance the adhesion between the pavement and the paint.
